London Peak Trail

If you’re eager to immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of ancient groves, encounter diverse wildlife habitats, and embark on a rewarding physical journey, then the Lower London Peak Trail awaits your exploration. This captivating two-mile hike encompasses a remarkable elevation change of over 1,400 feet, offering a vigorous workout amidst breathtaking surroundings. As you traverse the trail, informative signs will soon be installed, providing opportunities to pause, rest, and absorb fascinating insights about the area’s rich heritage. Adding to the allure, the London Peak Overlook Accessible Trail was dedicated in October 1998. Merely a short 20-minute drive from the I-5 corridor, this half-mile path, moderately challenging yet wheelchair-accessible, meanders along a forested ridge line, culminating in the London Peak Overlook. From this vantage point, prepare to be captivated by panoramic vistas of the Rogue/Umpqua Divide, the Wolf Creek Canyon, and the historic Applegate Trail, while catching a glimpse of the Wolf Creek Inn—once graced by the presence of renowned American author Jack London.

Burma Pond (14 Miles)

Situated just a mere 8 miles away from the charming community of Wolf Creek, lies the serene haven of Burma Pond. Spanning across 4.5 acres, this picturesque pond beckons anglers with its abundant rainbow trout (stocked) and smallmouth bass. Enthusiasts can explore the tranquil waters using non-motorized boats while a scenic hiking trail encircles the pond, offering an opportunity to immerse oneself in the surrounding beauty. Beyond fishing and boating, visitors can also partake in wildlife viewing and indulge in the joy of dispersed camping. Exciting upgrades are on the horizon for Burma Pond, including enhancements to the dam, the addition of a vault toilet, and the designation of designated camping sites, ensuring an even more enjoyable experience for all who venture here.
